Posted by Kate Flanders on October 5, 2018

We still don't have an offer document from the Department of Education in response to our many claims to improve your wages and conditions this year. This is really disappointing.

Education: What's happening with my pay increase and my EB?

Posted by Alex Scott on October 2, 2018

I hope you had a great long weekend.

I was hoping to be able to email you a copy of an offer from the Department of Education in relation to the claims union members have made as part of bargaining negotiations late last week. However, despite being promised an updated offer following recent negotiations, we have yet to receive anything in writing from the Department.

Schools: Your work matters

Posted by Kate Flanders on September 24, 2018

I have just returned from Toowoomba where a fantastic group of Together members from across the South-East (and even one of our fantastic delegates from Mt Morgan!) rallied outside the cabinet meeting in Toowoomba. We were seen and heard by several ministers and Minister DeBrenni and Minister Jones came to say hello. Unfortunately we didn't see Minister Grace or the Premier however we hope our message will be carried through their colleagues and from the media who were there. An enormous congratulations and thanks to all the members involved this morning, you were loud and proud – Recognise, Respect, Your work Matters!

Department of Education: your EB Negotiations

Posted by Kate Flanders on September 19, 2018

First – CONGRATULATIONS to the many hundreds of members who have taken action in the last three weeks. Inspectors in OIR were the first workers to take action, followed closely by therapists and scientific operations officers and then everyone else across Education! This is the most significant industrial action in the public sector in many years, and no wonder given the zero $ wage offer for the majority of members, lack of movement on job security and no movement on any other items in the claim that cost money.

Update on Therapy Negotiations

Posted by Kate Flanders on September 19, 2018

Yesterday we had the first negotiation meeting since suspending the therapy specific work bans.

Your great work in sticking strong together and advocating for your essential work, putting on your work bans and attending stop work meetings with your colleagues, meant the department came back to the table.
