This year we want to see every member feeling recognised, safe and being respected at work.

A key part of this will be ensuring that the ongoing process to settle your wages and conditions for the next 3 years is settled well.

Results of the member poll on the Education offer

I hope that you have all had a great weekend.

The result of the poll is that we had just over 51% of members casting a vote with 43.49% voting yes and 56.51% voting No, which means the majority of members have voted in favor of not accepting the offer. Delegates have accepted this result and we will advise the employer accordingly.

As union members you have put the fight for pay parity and recognition for therapists in education at the front and centre of the industrial agenda in 2018.

We now have a written offer to settle our EB agreement that has pay parity in it. Yay!

Education: Breakthrough discussion with Minister Grace

Following your action and correspondence Minister Grace has met with Together representatives and wants to try and resolve the issues and work towards a proposal to settle. Minister Grace is offering to intervene and address a number of issues about employment conditions.

Ministerial response and Monday

This week we have been continuing in the Commission, in the media and yesterday we received a letter back from the Minister offering to meet. This is progress! You can see the Minister's response HERE

We will certainly be seeking this meeting as a matter of priority.
