Thank you to the thousands of members who have voted in our poll asking about the next steps for bargaining.

98.5% of the members who have voted agree that we should be seeking to have the independent umpire step in at this point. There has been an extraordinarily high participation in the vote – clearly you all want to move on to the next step!

Replacement of School Based Staff and No, nothing on the EB yet!

Thank you to the many members who have contacted the office about the recently released policy and procedures on 'replacement of absent school based staff at no local cost' – we know!

The table referencing the change in Replacement/Credit Threshold for public service staff from immediate replacement to 'greater than 5 days' for long service leave and special leave we raised with the relevant officers in the department.

I was hoping to have received an offer or further proposals from the Department by now, however, we haven’t received anything.

It is now 1 March and of course that means it is six months since your last agreement expired.

We are ready to meet to consider any and all offers. As ever we act in good faith.

Yesterday morning we met again with departmental representatives to keep going with our negotiations. Together delegates Sharon Abbott, Lis Stalker, Sandra De Marchi, Perry Mitchell, Paul Goulevitch, Rineke de Regt and Julia Johnson did a fantastic job of advocating for members' views. They were impressive in their approach, always prepared, forthright and professional.
