World Ranger Day

Posted July 31, 2012 by Vivienne Doogan

World Ranger Day is observed on 31 July each year.

It is the day to recognise and celebrate Rangers and the work they do to protect the world?s natural and cultural treasures.

It is also the day to commemorate the Rangers killed or injured in the line of duty and reflect. Sadly in 2009 a Queensland Ranger lost their life protecting our natural treasures for all Queenslanders in Monto west of Bundaberg.

Please spend a moment to think about the Together members working as Rangers and Senior Rangers who are performing this vital Public Service every day. Let's keep it that way!

While reflecting on the work done by our Rangers and Senior Rangers I encourage you to join the campaign to fight for all public services http://www.workingforqueenslanders.org.au/.

Let's keep working together in the fight for protecting public servants and the communities they serve.
