Welcome back from all at your union office for the start of a new year and a new decade!
We hope that you, your family and friends have remained safe over the Christmas and New Year period which has seen catastrophic fires burning across the country and send our thoughts and love to those who are caught up in the ongoing crisis.
Throughout 2019 your union has continued to grow and build power despite aggressive anti-union policies and activities initiated by the Federal government and some employers.
Your role in the union movement has so far stood strong against the government's union busting legislation which would seek to strip away your rights in the workplace. However, in 2020 we must continue to stay strong to secure our wins and build on them in our workplaces and our communities.
Remember as a union member you never walk alone if you are facing issues at work. Your union office can assist you in a wide range of areas (including but not limited to):
- Workplace Health and Safety concerns;
- pay concerns;
- high workloads;
- issues at work;
- bullying and harassment; and,
- roster changes or changes at work.
Even if you are not sure about something at work, advice from your union can help you to prevent an issue from escalating into something more serious. You can contact your union office by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 1800 177 244 to speak directly to experienced industrial staff.
