Vote to certify your EB10 or HPDOCA offer.

The Queensland government's new 'wage freeze' legislation has locked in wage increases for Health members who already have agreements in principle.

This is good news. You have been waiting a long time for the money you are owed.

The legislation will mean that the timing of your wages increases will alter.

EB10 and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers

17 October 2020 17 October 2021
17 October 2021 17 April 2022

*Clinical Assistants are paid on EB9 rates between 1 September 2019 and 17 October 2019.

This is the only change in the amended EB10 and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker and HPDOCA offers.

The next step is to certify these agreements to secure the improvements to your conditions and your one-off $1250 pro rata payment that you won in bargaining last year.

Certifying your agreement will formally enshrine the new wage rates for Clinical Assistants and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers, new allowances for Medical Physicists allowances, Clinical Coders Review, QAS review, plus more training budget allocations and a higher allowance for those with relevant qualification to name a few improvements.

If we do not certify these agreements by September, under the new legislation your current agreements would be rolled over and these improvements will be lost.

The new legislation has also removed the requirement for an all staff ballot. However, your Health Conference Delegates want to ensure that you have had your say on certification.

QAS pay date

Despite repeated requests from union representatives, QAS have been unable to confirm a pay date for their employees covered by the HPDO3 and EB10 agreements.

We now understand that the date for the delivery of the pay increase and back dating for these staff will be the pay of 15 July 2020 - that is, in the next financial year.

This failure from QAS to deliver the pay increase in a timely way in line with the government's commitments is extremely concerning.

Together members have consistently stood up for the need for the back-pay to be paid and for your Agreement to be implemented. It is disappointing this hasn't occurred in the current financial year.

Have your say!

Do you want to accept this offer OR do you want to reject this offer and recommence negotiations while your current agreement is extended?**.

**Note: This would mean we would lose the other matters provided in the current offer other than the 2.5% and would need to continue to industrial action and fight to try to move this offer.

The survey will be open until 5:00pm Monday 10 July 2020.

It is good that you are finally being paid the wage increases and back pay that you are owed! Together members and members of other unions campaigned for these agreements and it is only fair that you should receive what you were promised.

Well done on being a union member! Without union members like you, these new agreements would not exist and your existing conditions wouldn’t be enforced. As union members you make your workplaces safer and better every day.
