Vote Information - Department of Education Certified Agreement 2019

Posted on March 30, 2020

We hope you had a good weekend.

In case you missed it here is the latest update of our COVID-19 FAQ. If you have any questions or concerns at this time about managing work in the context of the health emergency we are here for you. Email us here or contact us on 1800 177 244.

Also importantly HR have revised their advice to managers, and it is consistent with ours about what happens if you have been identified as a vulnerable worker in the current health pandemic.

See that here:

I have identified myself as being a vulnerable person. What leave am I entitled to if my Principal or manager directs me not to attend work and I am unable to undertake flexible work arrangements?

If an employee is directed by their Principal or manager to not attend their workplace and is unable to undertake flexible work arrangements or work at home, the employee will be paid regular remuneration without debit to any leave account.

Your EB! Vote in the Department Ballot

Together members in Education fought hard for two years to get to this week. Your EB agreement is now out for an all-staff ballot. As you know, union members voted overwhelmingly in favour of the offer that got us to this Agreement in December. This week you can vote in the final ballot.

To see the final agreement go here.

You should receive voting instructions from the Department today. Voting is open from today (Monday 30 March) and it closes on 9 April.

Here is some information the Department have released about the process:
