TMR Update - State Wage Case Win!
Wow November already!
Just a quick check in and update email for everything TMR.
The Department and your union office are in the processes of drafting your new collective agreement. We will continue to keep you updated as this is finalised.
Reminder: we won’t have dates for when to expect the back pay or the payment of $1250 until the agreement is certified which we would hope is early next year.
In other exciting news, last night the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission has ordered a 3% wages increase, back paid to 1 September 2019 to your award rates. This is a very important victory for you as Together members. The State Government made submissions seeking to stop the 3% pay increase this year, however, the Commission did not accept their arguments and instead agreed with the union parties.
What does this mean for you? Those who are in the AO2-AO4(4), OO2-OO6(3), TO2-TO3(4), PO2 classification groups will see a small wage increase as a result. These group of workers will not receive the full 3% but a portion of it as your award pay rate will be higher than your current wage rate and all government employees must be paid their relevant award as a minimum.
You will still receive the 2.5% wages increase next year when your collective agreement is certified.
Reviews, reviews, and more reviews!
We have a lot of work to do to get ready for all the agreed reviews. Along with your steering committee, between now and Christmas we will develop the terms of reference and plan for each review that will include identifying the key dates. Once we have this finalised we will send another update out so members will know the expected timeframes and phases of the review.
We have emailed the department asking them to ensure all levels of management are aware of the departments commitment to reasonable supply of uniforms and the replacement of uniforms on a fair wear and tear basis. If you require a replacement uniform you should email your manager requesting what you need. If you have any issues, let me know.
As always if you have any questions please do not hesitate to email them through to firstname.lastname@example.org
