TAFE Educators bargaining agreement
Together delegates have recently negotiated a final draft of the proposed TAFE Queensland Educators Certified Agreement 2016. While Together has given in-principle support for the deal, that support is subject to endorsement by Together members. So we need to know your thoughts. You can find the draft agreement here.
As well as strengthening consultative provisions, protecting non-contact time and clarifying Professional Development and programming arrangements we have negotiated three annual wage increases of 2.5% in line with government wages policy and also some adjustments as compensation for wage increases missed under the previous government. The first increase provided by the agreement will be effective from 1 July 2016.
What are your thoughts? After reading the document, please click on this link to complete a brief survey on whether you support the proposed agreement being put to a ballot of all teaching staff. Feel free to leave any comments you like or email email@example.com with any queries you may have.
If Together members endorse the draft agreement as it stands we expect a ballot to proceed in November. Should that be successful the wage increase and other improvements should be expected to be applied after certification early in 2017.
