Results from the EB10 member ballot
Congratulations! The member ballot for your new collective bargaining agreement was successful. We had a very high return rate with well over 50% of members voting, and over 98% of the votes were in support of the offer.
This is a fantastic result! Well done to delegates and union members for getting the department to agree to addressing your outstanding important issues that affect members across many disciplines and locations.
Once the unions who are a party to the agreement agree in principle, drafting for your new agreement can commence. We understand that the AWU have not yet signed up to the agreement and we do not know what issues still are outstanding for their members. Delegates are endeavouring to find out what these issues are, so stay tuned.
The drafting process may take some time, but the aim is to be completed as soon as possible. Once your new agreement is fully drafted, Queensland Health will conduct a ballot of all staff. If the majority of staff vote in favour of your new agreement, your new agreement will be certified in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission. Regular updates will be sent to you on the status of your new agreement.
Your wage increase, back pay and the $1250 one-off payment will not be paid until the above processes are completed.
Next steps for you
Your steering committee met on Monday and discussed the various classification reviews that will form your new agreement and the plans and frameworks that will need to be put in place to ensure the best outcomes for members.
