Restrictions on hours of work for Public Trust members.
Some members have reported that, when working from home, they have been restricted to working a standard day of 7 hours and 15 mins. Your union delegates have raised this with the department through the Agency Consultative Committee. This restriction is in breach of the Queensland Public Service Officer and Other Employees Award 2015-State which states:
- Notwithstanding the provisions of clauses 8.2, 15.1, 15.3 and 15.4, respectively, the provisions of clause 15.6 and Schedule 3 provide a framework within which hours of work arrangements and related conditions can be implemented with the express purpose of providing all eligible employees with access to an accrued day off within a work cycle. However, nothing will limit the ability of a chief executive and an employee to agree to access accrued time in part-days off.
This means that workers, who choose to, have the right to accumulate and take off one day per work cycle - no ifs, no buts, no maybes.
In the meantime, if you are finding that restrictions are continued to be placed on your ability to accumulate time and take a day off per work cycle, you should contact your local Together workplace delegate or your local Together union organiser in your area.
