Report back on HPs Allied Health meeting with WBHHS CEO
At the Allied Health meeting in Bundaberg on Friday, WBHHS CEO, Adrian Pennington spoke to a number of matters.
This meeting was the result of the Together members' petition calling on the CEO to intervene and consult with staff on the changes to the Allied Health structure and the concerns we had.
The key focus put forward by Adrian was in regard to staffing and being able to put WBHHS in the best position to resource a level 5 hospital. This presents many challenges; from attraction of staff, education, housing, executive staffing structures to support the implementation and the future growth of health needs across Wide Bay.
The issue of workloads was also discussed with extensive work done on researching and collating information on this issue in Bundaberg. You can read a report provided by HR earlier in the week that raises the issue in Bundaberg.
One of the key things for members to remember is that, as part of this process and future planning, you have a right to be consulted and informed about organisational change. You get to have a say!
We have also requested from HR, on behalf of members, a report on workloads to be provided for both Maryborough and Hervey Bay. We encourage all HPs who are experiencing workload issues to fill out theworkload management tool document so we have evidence to present to Management.
