EB10: Quick update on this week’s negotiation meeting
I know you would have already seen the news about the government’s new wages offer, including the $1250 payment, for Health EB10. We wanted to send a quick update to members about this week’s scheduled negotiation meeting.
Yesterday was the last scheduled formal negotiation meeting with Queensland Health. We have a range of important matters still to be finalised – these include workloads, job security, temporary-to-permanent conversion, organisational change and maximisation of hours.
At the meeting we were able to discuss the results of the recent survey of EB 10 members that covered many of these points. While we did secure some commitments inside the room, we don't have anything in writing yet. We are still awaiting a formal written offer from Queensland Health to address the outstanding issues. We are hopeful we will be able to secure this before our next deadline of 30 September.
As members, you have already shown your commitment to securing a good deal. The government shifted its wages policy only after members prepared to take industrial action.
To win fair wages – and to win on all the other matters – we need to maintain our strength as a union. Talk to your colleagues and ask anyone who is not a member yet to join today!
We'll be keeping everyone up to date on any more updates on the EB10 negotiations.
