Queensland Health: HNY and DG Correspondence to Together

Posted on January 6, 2020

We hope you have had a great start to 2020. It has certainly been a busy time for so many people! We hope you are taking care of yourselves.

On Christmas Eve Director General John Wakefield delivered some welcome news – that all parties have officially signed up to the deal for EB10 – which allows drafting to start right now and hopefully for some progress on the $1250 payment and (we hope) the potential for other matters to start early. We will be lobbying for that! Similarly for the HPDOCA Agreement – although we have yet to receive a similar letter about that agreement.

To see the letter and final terms for EB10 that were received click here.

We also received a letter from Dr Wakefield about an update to the Patient Access to Emergency Care Health Service Directive. The updated Directive can be accessed here.

The DG has commented that:

"Based on feedback from key stakeholders during the review period, five of the six documents have been amalgamated into one Health Service Directive and one protocol with the intention of the clinical detail of each original protocol being converted into clinical guidelines. Following extensive consultation from all Hospital and Health Services, the Queensland Ambulance Service, Retrieval Services Queensland and relevant union representatives, the revised documents have been approved for publication.”

We are sharing this with you as requested.

We look forward to continuing to work with you in 2020 to make sure our workplaces and services are safe, that you are fairly paid and that you have the resources you need.
