QIMR: Negotiation Update

Posted July 15, 2011 by Alex Scott

We are stronger together. And we need to be if we are going to get through these negotiations with QIMR and get decent outcomes.

We are in the period of negotiations where both parties are responding to the respective claims - these are the items that all members put forward earlier in the year to raise with QIMR. We are half day meetings with QIMR and government negotiators. A report on the latest meeting can be read here.

There are only 6 weeks to go in these discussions but a lot to talk about!

As you will see in the update, we have already given our position on managements Log. We are hoping that management will do so also as your Log has important issues for workers like wages and employment security just to name a few!

Next week we have more talks and we hope management will begin to state their position on these important issues.

Stay tuned for more information and remember to ask your colleagues who aren't yet members to join! And to get involved in our campaign. Workers at QIMR won't be able to win unless you all stick together.
