QHealth: Change of Pay Day

Posted October 3, 2012 by Alex Scott

As you are no doubt aware Queensland Health is changing the pay day for workers  this month.

For union members on Direct Debit arrangements have been made for the debiting of your union fees to move to coincide with the new pay date.  The process for this will be that your union fees will be deducted as normal on October 3.  The next deduction will occur three weeks later on the new pay date of 24 October.  Although this will be three weeks later you will only be charged your regular fortnightly amount at this time.

For members on payroll deductions you don't need to make any further arrangements.  However we would encourage you to consider moving off payroll deductions to a fortnightly direct debit or monthly credit card payment both these options are cheaper for you and remove the risk of you becoming unfinancial in the event of the government removing pay roll deduction facilities.

We would also encourage you to double check that you have changed all your other automated transfers and payments for things like your mortgage repayments to ensure that you don't get any dishonour or other fees.

If you have any questions regarding change of pay day please call member support in 1800 177 244 or email health@together.org.au
