QCS response to pay error
For those that have already checked Aurion for next fortnight's pay you will be aware that QSS applied the award rates to everybody’s payrate regardless of classification level and was granting some of you massive pay rises – they shouldn’t have.
The below was sent out by the department to try and clean up the mess.
As you would be aware, the State Wage Case decision increased Award rates by 3% from 1 September 2019. The State Wage Case increase will not apply to GS1-1 to GS1-7 as a result of clauses 1.7.3 and 1.7.4 of the QCS Correctional Employees Certified Agreement 2016. The Union have made an application for a declaration that Award rates are payable for GS1-1 to 1-7. This is a matter that is currently before the QIRC for determination. A short time ago QSS Payroll advised that they loaded all Award rates into Aurion – and in doing so incorrectly loaded Award rates for GS1-1 to GS1-7. QSS have now corrected the rates in Aurion for GS1-1 to GS1-7. The ‘preview pay’ on Employee Self Service will show the incorrect Award rates being paid for GS1-1 to GS1-7 in the next pay until the system is refreshed overnight. From tomorrow employees will see a correct notice for their next pay. If you require further information please do not hesitate to contact your Union Delegates or myself.
These are the pay rates we are fighting for you to be paid and it goes to the QIRC 9, 10 and 11 December.
As you can see the department are the ones refusing to pay them.
