QAS Mental Health Taskforce

Posted on July 2, 2019

I have been provided with a document from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) regarding the introduction of a QAS Mental Health Taskforce. This is a great initiative that aims to ensure the mental health and psychological well being of QAS staff. You can read it here:

Please read through the documentation and reply to me with your feedback or send your email to health@together.org.au by COB 8 July. All feedback will remain confidential and will be collated into a document that will be sent to management. It is important that you give detailed reasons to support your comments and arguments.

QAS are also looking for representatives for this task force; If you are interested, please let me know.

Bargaining Update

Negotiations have kicked off and Queensland Health has shown their hand - the Department has already signalled cuts in the EB10 agreement and we believe they are planning to cut similar conditions from the HPDOCA agreement. You can read the latest updates here:

If you are not a union member and you have received this email from a member, I encourage you to join your union so that you can have a say in your workplace. We are stronger when we stand together.
