PSO - Stop work action tomorrow postponed
Members sent a strong message by committing to take a one-hour stop work and we have received a positive response.
Today your union received an updated draft of the new Protective Services Enterprise Bargaining Agreement. There is still a little bit of work to be done to finalise the draft but many of the issues raised by delegates have been addressed. This draft should be finalised tomorrow to be sent to Government for approval. We also received a letter from the Senior Director of Industrial Relations that commits to members being paid their backpay for 2019 as soon as practicable but not before the eligibility date of 22 June.
In light of this, delegates have decided to postpone tomorrow’s industrial action. Your actions are being taken seriously. This is a big step forward towards finalising your agreement and members should be proud for standing up and being heard.
There is still the matter of the Premier’s wage freeze announcement from April and how it will impact your percentage wage increases moving forward. Together is opposed to any wage freeze and continues to fight for the fair treatment of public servants. Members will be kept up to date as this progresses.
