Metro South Organisational Change

There are two change processes happening right now in Metro South Health.

These processes may affect members in either the:

  1. Acute Care Teams at the PA, Redland or Logan Hospitals, or;
  2. Home & Community Based Services within Metro South Community and Primary Health.

  1. Acute Care Teams at PA, Redland and Logan Hospitals

Metro South have decided to create a new “MH Call Triage Service”.  This will impact the three existing acute care teams at Princess Alexandra, Redland and Logan Hospitals.

Staff were provided with information at a meeting on 9 December.  Management have since provided me with the documentation setting out the proposed change and the implementation process - click the links below to read copies of this information.

The current deadline for feedback to Metro South is 5 January 2015.

  1. Home & Community Based Services

Metro South have decided to realign home and community based services into the “MSH@Home” service which will incorporate an Acute Care at Home Service and a Rehabilitation at Home Service. 

It is proposed that the Acute Care at Home Service will establish a single management structure that includes the existing Hospital in the Home (HITH) service, the Post-Acute Care Service (PACS), the Community Hospital Interface Program (CHIP) and the Alternate Site Infusion Service (ASIS).

It is proposed that the Rehabilitation at Home Service will include the current Transition Care Program (TCP) and the Community Adult Rehabilitation Service (CARS).

We wrote to members about this process on 1 December (see that email here) and sought feedback by yesterday, 10 December, to meet managements deadline for feedback of today, 11 December.
