Mater: Results of your EB ballot

Posted on May 16, 2019

The ballot for employees to vote on whether to approve the proposed Mater Corporate and Administration Services Enterprise Agreement 2018 – 2021 closed Monday 13 May 2019 at 9:00pm.

Mater HAS confirmed that CorpVote has declared the formal result of the ballot as follows:

Response Rate of eligible employees

67%

“Yes” Votes

82%

Accordingly, the proposed enterprise agreement has been approved by employees. Mater will now prepare all relevant documentation for the Fair Work Commission (FWC). Our experience with the Fair Work Commission over the last couple of years has shown that this process can take a number of months as the FWC checks every clause of the agreement as well as wages and penalty allowances to ensure that no one singular employee is worse off on the agreement then they would be on the award. This process is know as the Better Off Overall Test (BOOT).

We will continue to communicate any updates we receive from the FWC or Mater as they come through.

Take the time to thank your wonderful workplace delegates that were involved in all the negotiations. Without their commitment and understanding of your workplace and issues, negotiations would be far less productive. It is delegates and members that make your union strong. Ensure your workplace continues to build power by asking your colleagues to join you as union members.
