Mater HP union meetings coming up

Posted on May 21, 2020

Yesterday at the EBA meeting, Mater management stated that they want to move to a ballot on their proposed EBA.

While improvements have been made on the hours of work clauses and the two-tiered wages structures, you will still be worse off under the proposed agreement. There has also been no commitment to consult if Mater wants to contract you out and Pharmacy and Pathology staff are still taking major changes to their wage structure.

If these changes are introduced, it will be hard to undo them and make it easier for Mater to go even further in 3 years.

Your negotiations team is holding a report back meeting -  and you are invited to join the online HP meeting - to discuss next steps and to hear from your negotiation team about the recent meeting.

Your Unions representing members at Mater are having two meetings in the coming days for all HP staff:

Now more than ever, HP staff need to come together and support each other. We know you are all working hard to keep our community safe, however you need to spend a little time on Friday to have a conversation about your working life and the proposed agreement which will soon be put to ballot again.

It's important that we have a strong attendance at these meetings, as what you do next will set the terms and conditions of your employment over the next 3 years.

Please contact your organiser Billy Colless via email privatehealth@together.org.au if you have any questions or concerns.
