LCCH Members - Urgent Feedback Required

Posted on February 13, 2015

Yesterday, your fellow union members met together at LCCH to decide on a course of action to address a number of urgent issues regarding the safety of staff and patients.

Members at the meeting voted unanimously in favour of Together requesting immediate action from the incoming Health Minister, Director General, and CHQ management to address a list of issues to protect patient safety and staff safety.

We are now seeking your feedback to finalise which points should be taken to the decision makers for immediate action.

We have collated and drafted a list of issues based on member input from Medical, Health Practitioner, Operational and Administrative Together members.  Please send your feedback if you have comment on any of the points included on this draft list of urgent actions.

Please don’t hesitate to contact James Douglas on 0420 795 986 if you have any questions, or for background information regarding these action points.  We are seeking a quick turnaround on this feedback

Further, please see this document - “Action Plan for Enhanced Engagement and Issues Resolution”  - which was presented to Together immediately prior to the Lunchtime union meeting.  This document appears to be management’s understanding of the issues raised by our clinical members during last Friday's meeting with the Director-General and LCCH management.  We are also seeking your feedback on management’s proposed action plan before we respond to the Chief Executive regarding their draft plan.

So that we can keep these issues front and centre on the agenda for the incoming government and LCCH management, please send your feedback to by Tuesday 17 February.  Consultation will be ongoing, and we will welcome your responses and feedback after that date however we are endeavouring to approach the decision makers as soon as possible regarding these matters of urgent concern.

We have sent this email to all members that we have currently listed at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.  If you haven’t received this email directly it may be because your workplace details have not been updated since moving to LCCH, so please update your details here or call 1800 177 244 so that you receive future important LCCH member communications.
