HPDOCA Bargaining update – it’s time for an offer.
We have less than 2 weeks to go to secure a deal and backpay for your new HPDO and Clinical Assistant’s agreement. Despite positive indications that there would be an offer early this week we still have not received an offer from Queensland Health.
Today we met to continue negotiations with Queensland Health; however, without an offer there are limits on the progress that can be made in these meetings.
Together members have raised over 200 important individual claim items as part of these negotiations. There are claims which will improve the lives of members, claims for better pay and conditions, claims which will improve patient care, and claims which protect your conditions of employment.
We will continue to push Queensland Health to put a good offer on the table prior to our state-wide member meetings in workplaces at 12:30pm this Thursday (click here for a meeting location near you). At these meetings we will hopefully discuss an offer, and if the offer isn’t good enough members will discuss what action you are prepared to take to secure a good deal.
The way Together members turn a poor offer into a good one is by taking industrial action during enterprise bargaining. With approved industrial action voted-up and ready to go, soon we will need to hear from you and union members in your workplace about your thoughts on the offer and what you are prepared to do about it.
That’s why you should come to the meeting on Thursday. Ask your non-union member colleagues to join and bring them along so that everyone can have their say and be part of getting a better deal.
Members are stronger together, so let’s keep up the pressure by attending your workplace union meetings. Look out for an update members on Thursday.
