Housing members - make your employment more secure!

Posted on July 20, 2017

For many years Together members have campaigned for better job security and rights for temporary employees. Because of your campaign you now have access to a new government directive that makes this real.

Your Together Organisers have been visiting Housing Service Centres and workplaces over the last few weeks talking to staff about what the new directive means for employment security and encouraging staff to act together to secure permanent employment for members.

We know that the recent announcements of new funding to increase housing services will lead to an increase in the already high workloads. Members want to ensure current staffing resources are secured and staffing resources meet workload demands.

This is why Together members will be seeking the DG to review temporary positions. Members in temporary positions have until 4pm Friday 21st July to submit their consent forms and surveys to be included in the review.

If you are currently in a temporary role and haven't yet completed the survey you can do so here and complete your consent form today.

Members want to ensure everyone has an opportunity to be a part of this review. If you know of colleagues who are also in temporary employment, please forward this email to them and ask them to join their union for the best chance at securing permanent employment.
