EOI process now open for members in Virgin Australia

Posted on August 27, 2020

As you will know, the EOI process for Virgin Guest Services employees is now open. Thank you to the ASU members who came along to our members' meeting on Monday night to discuss the process. We got lots of questions from members at the meeting that we have put to management and are meeting with them tomorrow to discuss.

Some of the key issues members have raised include:

  • Asking management to extend the timeframe for the EOI process as it is just too short, and there is too much uncertainty about JobKeeper eligibility;
  • Leave and service not accruing on Leave Without Pay;
  • The re-employment policy; and,
  • How the various options in the EOI will operate for people taking parental leave.

We are meeting with management on Thursday to discuss these issues, and recommend that members who have concerns raise these as well. We will have a detailed bulletin answering your questions on the EOI available on Friday.

Voting at the second creditors meeting

The second creditors' meeting is scheduled for next Friday 4 September. You may have been sent information through Halo about voting at the meeting or assigning a proxy for the meeting. The Federal Court has made an order that the ASU will automatically represent our members at the meeting. This makes it easier for you if you are happy for us to represent you at the meeting – you don’t have to do anything further.

Another members' meeting to answer your questions

We will have another online member meeting next Monday night to answer your questions about the EOI process. You can register here.

As always, please feel free to contact me by emailing airlines@together.org.au with your questions.
