ECQ - Union meeting - Overtime policy and new organiser
I hope you’re having a good 2020 so far – it’s obviously an incredibly busy year for members at ECQ, with a by-election already underway, local government elections imminent, and the state election in October. There has also been progress with your enterprise bargaining agreement – hopefully you will have seen the most recent Core update. Some key points are that drafting is well underway, we have a date for the payment of the $1250 sign on bonus, and the arbitration of your wages is still to come.
I am writing with two important updates – firstly, I would like to introduce myself as the new organiser for ECQ. I’ve come on board because my predecessor, Millicent Gray, has taken on another role within the union. I look forward to working with you all.
Secondly, your delegates have concerns regarding overtime practices at ECQ. We are calling an urgent union meeting to give members a chance to discuss this before the local government elections fully kick off this weekend.
Date: Wednesday 19th February
Location: Kookaburra Room
Please come along if you can – your delegates are keen to hear your thoughts on ECQ’s overtime practices, any changes you’ve observed, and on how we can work together to get the best outcome going forward.
Milli will also be attending the meeting as we want to make the handover as smooth as possible for members.
