DJAG – COVID-19 Your Questions – Safety at Work + Vote on your EB

Posted on March 30, 2020

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues it’s really important that you feel safe at work.

It’s great that the Premier of Queensland has set a clear policy direction of ensuring that all public servants will continue to be employed, and paid, during this difficult time.

There is also additional special paid leave which has been made available in order to ensure that anyone who is unwell, but has run out of sick leave, will continue to be able to access paid leave.

We have had reports however that some Together members in DJAG and PTO are experiencing difficulty in accessing necessary personal protective equipment, implementing modified processes and accessing telecommuting or working from home arrangements.

We are continuing to raise these issues with the highest levels of the Department because if we don’t let the senior management team know, they won’t be able to address your concerns in what is a fast-moving and difficult time.

If you have an issue or concern that you would like us to raise please get in contact – at this address or on 1800 177 244.

We have created a resource hub on our website HERE.

And here is some guidance about the various leave entitlements that now exist.

Vote Now on your EB

Together members overwhelmingly endorsed the offer made by government in December 2019 to settle your EB. The resulting agreement is now out for ballot. Make sure you vote in the employee ballot and vote yes!

This settlement has improved employment security, access to mental health first aid training and many more important measures that members fought hard for.

Stay safe and remember that we are here for you.
