Corrections: Negotiations and Industrial Actions update

Posted on May 21, 2019

A quick update on negotiations and our continuing industrial campaign.

Negotiations were scheduled to continue today; however, the department have not received any further instructions from government regarding the offer so your negotiating team have walked away from the table until they do.

The department may seek to get the QIRC involved to help conciliate the agreement. While this doesn't prevent us from continuing industrial action, it may give us a chance to take stock and regroup.

Your conference delegates have met today via teleconference to discuss the plan moving forward. We will be providing updates via email and Facebook. Visit our Facebook page here.

We have written to Corrections Minister Mark Ryan to seek an urgent meeting. You can see the letter here.
