Corrections EB discussions are back on the table.
We have sent a letter to Commissioner Martin and Minister Ryan seeking further discussions to try and achieve a settlement for the Custodial Corrections Agreement. You can read the letter here.
We received a response from Deputy Commissioner Koulouris last week in which a meeting was requested during the week beginning, April 26. You can read that here.
Your delegates and officials will continue to put the union case for a minimum of award wages, extra sick leave and remuneration for shifts over and above the 28.5% ASA on the agenda.
The pending 12/12 decision does give us leverage to bargain for at least award wages and recent agreements have all shown promising signs.
Thank you for not giving up, thank you for turning up every day and for maintaining the pressure on the Department.
We are still putting regular updates on our Facebook page. I encourage you to join the group if you haven't already. Only union members are able to join.
