2014 is set to be a significant year for hardworking Communities members like you, as you and your colleagues are faced with major reforms that will continue to impact on the way you work and your ability to provide quality services to Queenslanders.

The safety of Queensland’s children should never be up for tender.

2013 saw the Queensland Child Protection Commission of Inquiry complete its investigations and the government eventually accept (either fully or in principle) all of Commissioner Carmody’s recommendations. Read more here.

AS&RS workers deserve a say.

In December 2013 the government made the disappointing decision to officially advertise that Accommodation Support & Respite Services were out for tender. What is most concerning about this development is that the Government did not provide proper consultation to you and your affected colleagues about this significant step forward in the process. Read more here.
