Breaking news: Payrise for Senior Officers

Posted on June 11, 2021

Because of Together members like you, Senior Officers have achieved a pay increase.

Today the Premier has announced that Senior Officers will receive a pay increase of 2.5%, dated from 1 September 2019, to be paid on 1 July 2021.

This will be the first increase for Senior Officers since 2017.

On top of that Senior Officers will be paid:

  • 2.5% from 1 September 2021;
  • 2.5% from 1 March 2022; and
  • 2.5% from 1 September 2022.

The pay increases from September 2021 will also apply to the Senior Executive Service.

Congratulations on this major win! This well-deserved outcome was only achieved thanks to the work of you and your colleagues as union members.

You can read the letter from the Premier here.

You work for Queensland every day in vitally important roles. Your contribution should be recognised and celebrated by all Queenslanders.

You can read a media story from InQueensland here.

Together members have been patient and persistent in advocating for a fair wage increase. The duties and responsibilities and workloads of SES and Senior Officers have been increasing steadily for years.

Hundreds of you signed the petition to the Premier and Public Service Commissioner in the first few days. This action has led to a strong result.

As union members, your actions in signing the petition, asking your colleagues to join, and continuing to press for a resolution of this issue have delivered this win.

Congratulations on your well-deserved increase and thank you for everything you do for Queenslanders.

PS. Remember to ask any of your colleagues who are not yet members of the union to join today.
