ACE - Your agreement has been endorsed!
Congratulations! As you will have seen the ballot results for your new agreement shows it has been overwhelmingly endorsed across ACE.
This outcome has secured a pay rise of 2% per year for three years for all staff. As well as the maintenance of all conditions.
Your union understands that some of you feel as though there was more to be gained from this process; the truth is; there is always more to be gained; the good news is you now know what it takes to win which means you can aim for more improvements in the future.
You should all take the opportunity to give a BIG congratulations and thanks to Theresa and Patrick for their work at the negotiating table and to Miles at the CBD. These delegates worked tirelessly keeping members up-to-date, canvassing members and all the extra tasks in between that was asked of them outside of work hours.
Now the ballot has been successful, ACE will be preparing to lodge the agreement with the Fair Work Commission. Once it has been approved by Fair Work the pay increases and back pay will be able to occur. Delegates will let you know about these time frames when the information becomes available.
Although the battle is over, the war has not yet been won! It is not only important to negotiate an agreement; it is just as important to implement and ensure that you use your agreement. You can do this by reading your agreement, knowing your rights, continuing to be active in your workplace; communicating with members about any concerns and asking colleagues to become Union members. Remember your Union provides members with individual advice and assistance including collective issues outside of EB negotiations. As well as access to a range of other membership benefits (Union Shopper, TUH, ME Bank).
Make sure you keep an eye on the regular union updates that are sent to you. You can always get in contact with your union by emailing email@example.com or calling 1800 177 244 and speak directly to one of our experienced industrial staff.
I look forward to celebrating your wonderful achievements with you and working with you further into the future.
