Today many agencies have alerted employees to the fact that you as union members secured a deal last December to protect and improve conditions, to secure the $1250 one-off payment (which will be paid pro-rata) and to maintain our right to arbitrate wages and push for a wage increase this year.

Your UQ union update and information regarding COVID-19

On Friday, 6 March, your Union delegates and the NTEU met with the Provost to continue the ongoing dialogue in relation to UQ management’s steps to mitigate the impact on staff of reduced student numbers resulting from the COVID-19 travel bans.

Your new collective agreement has now been certified by the Fair Work Commission (FWC). You can read your new agreement here with a correction issued that the agreement expires on 5 March 2023.

Organisational changes at AHPRA

Your union has recently been advised by AHPRA that organisational change is being proposed to staff this week.

A further Report Back Conference was held in the Fair Work Commission (FWC) in Melbourne on 4 March. The company was represented by Ms. Sharron Myers and Mr. Angus Cameron. This conference followed the one on 13 February, where the company was asked by the Commission to review its draft consultation document and adopt principles which would avoid the disastrous closure of offices and redundancies process that occurred in January 2020.
