Working from home has been a success in the public service. I’ve heard from members that being able to work from home for part of the week has improved their work-life balance and productivity which has flow-on impacts into our communities.

On Labour Day weekend we certainly sent a clear message to politicians and the broader community that Respect at Work is an issue that needs to be taken seriously and we want to see real action on it now. We want to see better laws and safer workplaces.


Our new working arrangements brought on by the pandemic has made us all reassess how and where we work.


We’re writing to update you following a Courier Mail article last Friday which named a large number of Child Safety staff who were appointed in 2021.

CQHHS still has no stable structure!

We have been waiting for a year for CQHHS to produce a stable structure for members! Chief Executive Steve Williamson gave members an undertaking that the short, sharp restructure which was introduced under the ‘Covid-19 change provisions’ was to ensure that Health Workers would have an opportunity to provide feedback and shape the future of our local HHS structure. This simply hasn’t happened. We have been waiting for a structure to be tabled month after month at CQHHS Consultative Forum – and none has been forthcoming!


Auscript management have provided an update regarding the Brisbane accommodation including Eight Mile Plains and work from home arrangements.
