Youth Justice: Report back: Together delegates meeting with the new DG

We're writing to report back to you regarding discussions which were held last week between your Together Youth Justice delegates and both the incoming Director General, Deidre Mulkerin, and outgoing Director General Bob Gee.
This report includes information about the timeline for changes/restructure to form the structure of the new Department, and report back on member issues that together has raised at the meeting and with Youth Justice managers.

ASU reaches in-principle agreement with Virgin on your EBA

Following union members voting to support the proposed enterprise agreement, we have now reached in-principle agreement with Virgin on the final version of the enterprise agreement. This means the official approval process will now begin. Management will be writing to you today with the official notification.

Winners of the bursary will receive $300 towards school expenses. You can learn more about this initiative here.
Custodial Corrections: Serious Assault and Disease Testing

Recently legislation was put before the NSW Parliament with the intention of allowing a perpetrator of a spitting, biting or bodily fluids attack to be tested for information about the potential risk of disease spread. Some members were prompted to ask about the situation in Queensland.
What's next in your QANTAS EBA?

On Wednesday, 25 November, your ASU National Negotiating Team met with Qantas senior management representatives to discuss the status of bargaining. This was not a bargaining meeting. Instead, the company provided an update on the impact of COVID-19, their plans for the future of the business, and the Qantas Group's attitude towards bargaining. This information will help union members to make an informed decision about the next steps for their EBA.
