Griffith University: General Staff Education Assistance Scheme - feedback required
Posted by Alex Scott on July 20, 2011
Union delegates have been asked to give feedback on the updated policy for the General Staff Education Assistance Scheme. In order to provide a response to management, we need feedback from members about the proposed policy. You can view the proposed General Staff Education Assistance Scheme below. Members' feedback will be collated and given as our response.
It is really important that all members get to have a say in policies that effect their employment conditions and participate in all consultation processes. Please send your feedback through to jlb@qpsu.org.au by COB Monday 25 July 2011.
Any questions regarding the policy can also be directed to jlb@qpsu.org.au.

Your thoughts? URGENT UNION MEETINGS ABOUT HEALTH OVERPAYMENT RECOVERY PROPOSAL
Posted by Alex Scott on July 16, 2011
Union delegates and officials have consistently put the position to the government that members should not have to repay money that is an alleged overpayment back to QHealth if they could not get accurate data, or if they were in fact owed money by QHealth.
In further meetings between union representatives and QHealth over the last week the Minister for Health, Geoff Wilson, intervened and has made a new offer with a proposed resolution to some problems regarding the overpayments recovery process.
What has been proposed is that Unions and QHealth sign up to a "Heads of Agreement" document. As union members we need to hear what you think about the proposal so that delegates can let the Minister know what you think.
Your Health Council delegates have considered this proposal and are seeking your views on whether it should be endorsed.
Meetings will be held around the State next week give members a chance to have their voice heard. The following meetings have already been arranged:
Monday 18th July
10.30am QE11 2B conference room
12:00pm (Noon) QHSS Auditorium
1.30pm PAH Auditorium
2.00pm TPCH Education Centre Auditorium
Tuesday 19th July
10.00am Nambour Hospital Auditorium
10.00am Gold Coast Hospital Education Centre room 6 & 7
10.30am Ipswich Hospital Auditorium
12.00pm (Noon) Redlands Hospital conference room 1 & 2
Wednesday 20th July
10.00am Redcliffe Hospital Education Centre Lecture Room 2
12.00pm (Noon) Caboolture Hospital Library reading room
1.30pm Logan Hospital conference room 1A&B
Thursday 21st July
11am Cairns hospital - Childbirth Education Room 2nd floor C Block
1.30pm Royal Brisbane Hospital auditorium
Meetings are also being arranged in the major regional hospitals and the time and place of those meetings will be announced as soon as possible.
For Health centres not listed, if members and delegates would like to hold meetings a copy of the proposed Heads of Agreement and meeting notes can be downloaded here.
Any feedback should be provided by 5pm Thursday, 21 July to health@qpsu.org.au.
We look forward to hearing your views, as a union we will then put the majority decision back to the Minister.
