The government says that the upcoming ballot on your agreement is about you having a say about wages, not job security – they are wrong. If we vote for an agreement without a job security clause, there is no going back. It is game over for permanent employment in the public service under this government.

Queensland Health cuts: end the uncertainty!

From early September, Premier Newman announced 4000 job cuts to Health areas.  Then on budget day, he advised the media that public servants and health workers deserved certainty' and would know whether they were staying or going.  As we are all aware, this has not been the case.

The decision of the full bench of the Queensland Industrial Relation Commission was handed down today 3 October 2012.  While the monetary outcomes are not as high as those sought by Together they ensure members in TMR will remain ahead of the Core based on the proposed offer of 2.35% p/a.
