Corrections: Union continues campaign for pay increase

Posted on June 25, 2021

The union campaign for a pay increase for Custodial Corrections officers is continuing.

After the recent pay increase for politicians and senior officers, Custodial Corrections officers are the last remaining group in the state government whose wages are still yet to be finalised.

Read a Courier-Mail article about the union’s move for the wage increase here.

"If the government is serious about providing fair and equitable remuneration across the public sector then it needs to look after these correctional officers who are among the lowest paid and are doing a dangerous job,” Branch Secretary Alex Scott said.

Negotiations on the collective agreement are continuing. You can read an update here but for more detail go to the Together Prison Officers Facebook group.
