Delay after delay from the government in the Core arbitration
Posted by Together Queensland on May 8, 2013
The Newman government has been at it again, going to extreme lengths to delay paying a wage rise to public servants under the Core agreement.
As you might recall, your union lodged an appeal in the Industrial Court against the decision of the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) that it did not have jurisdiction to award an interim wage increase, pending the outcome of the full arbitration, since Campbell Newman had refused the simplest option of simply paying one without having to be ordered. That appeal is listed for an initial hearing on 7 May 2013.
Your wages, your conditions, and a very big week.

It’s been a huge week. We’ve seen Campbell Newman continue to delay a wage rise for public sector workers. We’ve seen privatisation dressed up as "contestability" announced in the government’s flawed plan for Queensland.
Government still holds up wage increase for Core

Public servants covered by the Core agreement are still waiting on an interim wage increase, thanks to the government’s continued opposition to paying an interim increase on all fronts.
