Update on your QML agreement
By now you should have your pay increase. This is cause for celebration! Your pay increase has been delivered thanks to your delegates securing a commitment from QML management that the pay increase would be applied following a successful 'yes' ballot result. Well done to everyone who has been involved in campaigning for a new agreement!
Your QML Pathology Agreement 2017 is still sitting with the Fair Work Commission while they check whether the new agreement passes the "Better Off Overall" Test (BOOT).
BOOT requires that each of the employees to be covered by the agreement is better off overall than under the relevant modern award. It is a critical criteria for approving an agreement.
There has been some toing and froing between the Fair Work Commission and QML while the Commissioner seeks some clarification and undertakings and the employer explains their calculations.
