TMR won't sign your agreement
In July last year, your union gave in-principle agreement to a new certified agreement which provides wage increases of 2.5% from 1 July 2016.
Members commenced the access/consultation period on 11 November 2016 in accordance with the legislation. The count of the vote was finalised on 16 December 2016 with 96% of eligible employees in favour.
At the Determination Consultative Committee today our union representatives expressed the concern that many members have raised with your union about the delays in processing the agreement. This is something our officials have been raising this with the Department since early January 2017.
Given the delays our representatives made the following requests today:
- That back pays be processed administratively immediately.
- That TMR provide a commitment that any current employee as of today’s date be guaranteed back pay, regardless of their status with the department when the agreement is certified.
The Department refused both of these requests and further advised that they will not be signing the agreement prior to Tuesday of next week.
This is not good enough.
The Department needs to sign this agreement so members can receive the pay rise they deserve.
As a consequence, this has left your union no option but to lodge a dispute in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
