Thursday rally for fair wages and a stronger community

Posted October 12, 2011 by Alex Scott

Your union colleagues in Queensland Health have watched negotiations drag on for months. The government are still expecting workers across the state to accept a wage increase that is below the rising cost of living, in effect a real wage cut.

That is why workers will be rallying outside Parliament on Thursday to call on the Premier to intervene in negotiations for a fairer deal.

Queensland government services are vital for our community, but politicians won’t acknowledge that quality services need fair wages. Your colleagues are asking for your support this Thursday since all areas of the public sector deserve fair wages.

By standing together with Queensland Health workers this Thursday you can help ensure that all public sector wages keep pace with the community. With your own Core collective agreement up for renegotiation soon, we have to send a strong signal to politicians to intervene now.

Come to Parliament House this Thursday at 12:00pm to support fair wages and a stronger community.
