Rally to defend Southside hospitals

Posted January 16, 2013 by Alex Scott

Across the state the government has been taking the knife to our public hospital system. Now the Newman government has reduced clinical services at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, one of the southside's main hospitals, threatening vital health services.

Tomorrow the Queensland Nurses Union is running a lunchtime rally to oppose the cuts. I know that many union members who don't work in Queensland Health are still passionate about making sure Queensland has a quality health system and are vehemently opposed to this government's radical slash-and-burn agenda.

If you are available and would like to support strong health services for the southside please come along to the rally. The details are:

Date: Thursday 17 January
Time: 12:30pm
Venue: The front area, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Woolloongabba.

If you are coming, make sure you bring a bottle of water and a hat, as summer has well and truly arrived!

PS. If you haven't already, sign up to the Working for Queenslanders campaign to support the public services our communities need.
