Rally to defend northside hospitals

Posted January 9, 2013 by Alex Scott

Across the state the government has been taking the knife to our public hospital system. Yesterday it was announced that 25 jobs will go at The Prince Charles Hospital, one of the northside's main hospitals, and some surgical beds will be closed.

Tomorrow the Queensland Nurses Union are running a lunch time rally to oppose the cuts. I know that many union members who don't work in Queensland Health are still passionate about making sure Queensland has a quality health system and are vehemently opposed to this government's radical slash-and-burn agenda.

If you are available and would like to support strong health services for the north side please come along to the rally. The details are:

Date: Thursday 10 January
Time: 12:30pm
Venue: The Prince Charles Hospital, Main Driveway Entrance, Rode Road Chermside.

If you are coming along don't forget to bring a hat and sunscreen. It looks like it will be a hot one!

I hope you have had a great Christmas and New Year and look forward to working with you throughout 2013.
