Queensland Health - let's talk!

Posted July 14, 2011 by Alex Scott

We are stronger together. And we need to be if we are going to get through these negotiations with Queensland Health and get decent outcomes.

We are in the period of negotiations where we are explaining our claims - these are the items that all members put forward earlier in the year to raise with Queensland Health. We are having full day meetings with QHealth and government negotiators. A full report on the latest meeting from one of your negotiating delegates can be read here.

There are now 7 weeks to go in these discussions but a lot to talk about! So we are hoping to get some more answers and fewer questions in the following meetings. These issues are really big ones - workloads, wages, employment security, training, rural and remote incentives and allowances just to name a few!

Next week we have more talks - these will focus on improving allowances like on-call and the mental health allowance and also professional development and training.

Stay tuned for more information and remember to ask your colleagues who aren't yet members to join! And to get involved in our campaign. We won't be able to win unless we all stick together.
