QHealth: What's your view?

Posted February 20, 2013 by Alex Scott

2012 was a challenging year for all working Queenslanders - especially in Queensland Health. In 2013 we must keep up our fight against Campbell Newman's funding and job cuts, but we also need to make sure we campaign and win on other issues in your workplace.

Fill in the survey to give your views on changes in Queensland Health.

Last year, our members were faced with a rollercoaster of change, all of which culminated in job losses, slashing of frontline services and stripping away of vital conditions. This difficult process is continuing 2013 as boards roll out cuts in each region. We will continue to campaign in workplaces and the community to highlight the impact these cuts are having on health services.

However, in 2013 we also need to focus on local workplace issues and make sure we continue to fight for positive change in our own workplaces. That might mean giving members a say about how the job cuts are absorbed in individual health services. Or it could be a workplace concern completely unrelated to the funding cuts.

We need to audit what is going on in health workplaces across Queensland so together we can address all the issues in Queensland Health, not just ones where we have already established campaigns.

Take the time to fill out the survey online now.

By collating the concerns of thousands of health workers we can identify issues concerning groups of workers and begin to develop plans to address them.

Every day news is coming through about the painful reality that is confronting Queensland Health workers We must do everything we can so the Queensland public holds the government responsible for the impact their agenda is having on health services. But we can walk and chew gum at the same time. So please take a moment today to share the issues concerning you at work.

PS. Are you having difficulty filling out the survey online? You should shortly be receiving a paper copy in the mail.
