Community Health not Cuts

Attend your rally on Thursday December 13 at 12.30pm on the grassed area in front of the Prince Charles/Chermside Community Centre on Hamilton Road. Look for the Together and QNU signs (Near breast Screen).

On 3 December 2012 the Metro North Health and Hospital Service Board announced their decision to restructure Primary and Community Health Services, Brighton Health Campus & Services and Metro North Subacute Services into a new service called the Sub Acute and Ambulatory Services.

Together strongly opposes the reduction of health services to this community and the loss of jobs for hundreds of hardworking, committed staff who in their administrative, operational or clinical and allied health roles, strive every day to make sick people well and to ensure they get the best treatment care and services possible.

Queensland Health workers are amongst the hardest working, who are committed to their patients and the delivery of world class health services. The community knows and supports the work you do, however the Newman Government is not prepared to stand up for the Brisbane North side community then the Metro North Board should.  This decision to cut over 196 positions without any real thought to the impact on patients, the community and the employees will mean irreparable damage to the Brisbane North side community.

These decisions have an impact on people's lives - be it the Children, Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Your next door neighbours, and or the members whose jobs are being directly affected. There are human consequences of these decisions. It's about treating human beings decently and providing decent health services to all members of the Brisbane North side Community.

It’s time for every worker within Metro North to stand together and show your Board and the Newman Government how wrong they are.

Attend your rally on Thursday December 13 at 12.30pm on the grassed area in front of the Prince Charles/Chermside Community Centre on Hamilton Road. Look for the Together and QNU signs (Near breast screen)
