Mater rally for wages

Posted May 5, 2012 by Alex Scott

Queensland Health has told the Mater that it will only fund 2.5% of the 3% negotiated for Health Practitioners, meaning that the hospital now has to find the remaining 0.5% increase from within its own budget.

It is likely that Queensland Health will adopt this approach for wage increases for all occupations unless we take a firm stance.

Rally 10 May outside Mater Adult Hospital, Stanley Street, commencing 12:00pm

Members have attended mass meetings this week and unanimously endorsed a resolution calling on Queensland Health to fully fund the wage increases.

Now we need to send a strong message to Queensland Health that it needs to fund the Mater for wage increases - please come to the rally on Thursday 10 May and make your voice heard.

Please also talk to your workmates and get them to come to the rally.

Members have also been sending messages to Queensland Health by sending emails to the Director General of Queensland Health. (Tony_O'Connell@health.qld.gov.au).

To ensure all staff get the wage increases they have been promised, we need to get as many people as possible involved in this campaign.

Please come along to the rally, encourage your colleagues to attend, send an email to the Director General and encourage your colleagues to send a message as well.
