Labour Day in Ipswich

Posted on April 11, 2017

Labour Day 2017 is just a few weeks away and I just wanted to follow up on Alex’s email from last week to give you a bit more information on our Labour Day event in Ipswich.

Ipswich’s Labour Day and Family Fun Day is on Saturday 29 April. Labour Day is always a great family day to celebrate being union and enjoy the company of your fellow Together members, I hope you can come along and join us!

Members will meet near Darling and Ellensborough Streets at 10:30am. Here you will receive a Together shirt, organise our flags to proudly wave and we will get ready to take our place in the march as a union!

Then the march will start near Darling and Ellensborough Streets and is around 1km long from start to finish. The march usually takes about 30 minutes to complete.

Once we finish the march, members can head to the Ipswich Mall (Brisbane St) for the Family Fun day part of Labour Day. Here there will be a free BBQ and drinks. There will also be rides and other activties for the kids! Look our for all our purple shirts to find the Together area.

It might also be a good idea to bring a chair, as their are limited seating options.

Click here for more Labour Day info on the Together and HERE to print out a poster to put up in your workplace. There is also a QCU webpage set up specifically for the Ipswich Labour Day event that will have the most up-to-date info.

Let’s make Labour Day 2017 our biggest yet!
